On its 5th CPSC- KoreaTech Special Internship Program, CPSC faculty and staff led by Dr. Naim Yaakub, CPSC Director General welcomed 18 students from the Korea University of Technology and Education (KoreaTech) for the three-week internship program from January 14 to 31, 2013. CPSC has been consistently conducting customized programs for KoreaTech since the Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the two institutions in 2008.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Naim relayed his sincere thanks to the management of Koreatech for choosing CPSC for the fifth time as a venue for their students’ internship program. He also affirmed the high appreciation of the previous batches to CPSC’s internship program. He emphasized that CPSC internship programs are appropriately designed to enhance the students’ generic and soft skills development, improve decision-making capabilities and make good use of the opportunities from the emerging world of the global, knowledge-based economy.
Dr. Hazrat Hussain, CPSC Faculty Consultant acts as Program Coordinator for the three week program which includes lectures about communication and soft skills development, improvement of pronunciation, job interview and office writing skills, knowledge management, research and research proposal development, green energy in TVET and teamwork culture for productivity and competitiveness. The internship proper will be held at Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation at Sta. Rosa, Laguna on the second week where they will be exposed with quality and technical culture of Toyota, including the intensive implementation of the 5S in the workplace.
Cultural trips around Manila, Hidden Valley Resort, Tagaytay City and Enchanted Kingdom are also included in the itinerary. These are arranged to make the participants appreciate the different sights and provide a glimpse of the culture of the host country, Philippines, as well as to provide a relaxing diversion from the otherwise busy three-week program.
