The DG of CPSC, Dr.Naim Yaakub graced a training program by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) titled "Industrial Technology Education Training Course", held on July 19, 2013 in Aichi University of Education, Nagoya, Japan.
On invitation by Prof. Dr. Hidetoshi Miyakawa of the university, who was formerly CPSC’s Liaison Officer for Japan, the Director General joined the event to refresh linkage with Japan and provide a special presentation during the course. In his presentation, Dr. Naim highlighted CPSC’s major achievements and strengths in providing capacity building programs in the area of TVET. He also shared CPSC’s history and its journey in working with countries in the Asia Pacific region towards achieving economic progress through TVET.
The JICA course is hosted by the Aichi University and has been conducted 15 times since 1999 up to the present with a total of 150 participants. The training aims to contribute to the development of human resources in the field of industrial technology education in developing countries by providing information on Japanese and global activities and system for the promotion of industrial technology education.
Through the occasion, the Director General took the opportunity to revive active cooperation with Japan as he discussed with Prof. Miyakawa prospects for mutual areas of support and future collaborative undertakings.
