The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Governing Board (GB) convened its 106th session on January 31, 2019 at the CPSC Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. Aside from the Adoption of the Agenda, Adoption of the Minutes of the 105th GB Meeting held on July 5, 2018, and Summary of Actions Taken based on Board Decisions and Business Arising, the Board took up four agenda items as follows: External Audit of CPSC’s Financial Statements for FY 2017 – 2018, Midyear Report for FY 2018-2019, Report of the Standing Committee, and the Accomplishment Report of the Director General Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane.

The Chairperson of the CPSC GB / Ambassador of Bangladesh, H.E. Asad Alam Siam, presided the meeting. It was attended by the Ambassadors of Myanmar, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka; Chargé d’ Affaires of Singapore, Director General of CPSC; representative from the Embassy of Malaysia; and representatives from the Office of the United Nations and other International Organizations, Department of Foreign Affairs and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
After the presentation of CPSC’s Financial Statements for FY2017-2019 by the external auditors from Valdes, Abad and Company, the CPSC Director General Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane reported the activities and accomplishments of the Staff College during the first half of FY 2018 – 2019 with the Midyear Report. Following the Board actions made from the endorsement of the Standing Committee, Dr. Lamichhane proceeded with the Director General’s Accomplishment Report. In his report, he emphasized the increase in the average number of CPSC programs conducted and beneficiaries since he joined in 2016. He also highlighted the significant increase in the number of APACC-accredited institutions and the realization of India and Thailand subscribing to APACC. The Staff College also continued to conduct collaborate programs with various international partners in TVET.
Consequently, the Board expressed its appreciation to Dr. Lamichhane and renewed his term for another two years. All the agenda items presented were disposed. The 107th GB Meeting will be held on June 27, 2019 (Thursday).
