Dr. Abdulwase Abdulahe, State Minister for Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Ethiopia, led the 6-man delegation that was welcomed by Colombo Plan Staff College on May 29, 2019.
He was accompanied by senior officials of the Ethiopian TVET system namely: Mr. Getachew Negashe, Director General of Federal TVET Agency (FTA); Mr. Teshale Berecha, Director General of Federal TVET Institute (FTI); Mr. Alemshet Birhane, Deputy Director General of Federal TVET Agency (FTA) and Mr. Eniyew Getnet, Deputy Director General of Federal TVET Institute (FTI) for Research. Dr. Ricardo Mejia, the Filipino Advisor and Expert in TVET also accompanied the visitors.
Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane, CPSC Director General, along with the Seconded Faculty, Dr. Vijay Patil and faculty specialists composed of Mr. Sanyog Bhattarai, Mr. Abdul Ghani Rajput and Ms. Therese Lee; as well as a few CPSC division officers were invited to receive the delegation.
A brief discussion on CPSC’s mission, vision, objectives and scope in the region commenced after the brief formalities. Dr. Lamichhane presented some information regarding CPSC’s recent activities in the region, particularly on the institutional accreditation and certification spearheaded by APACC.
Dr. Abdulahe expressed his appreciation to CPSC for warmly welcoming them and expressed his interest to collaborate in future activities through a MoU. He also expressed his willingness to tap the Ethiopian government in exploring additional ways to strengthen the partnership between the two organizations on fields such as training, research and information exchange.
