A total of six (6) TVET professionals from the Philippines and Malaysia attended CPSC’s latest open registration program focused on introducing results-based project management in TVET. The program was held from December 2-5, 2019 at CPSC’s headquarters.
The participants at the GIZ Headquarters with Mr. Marcel Haessner (center), development advisor of GIZ-Philippines. The program was organized for the participants to be able to learn the dynamics, definitions and processes in project management. The lectures were selected for them to understand project planning, project implementation and project evaluation as key phases in project management and prepare tools such as the project problem tree analysis, objective and solution. At the end of this training program, they are expected to apply these tools and methodologies for managing TVET programs and projects.
The program was supervised by CPSC Director General, Dr. Ramhari Lamichhane and coordinated by CPSC’s Faculty Specialist, Ms. Therese Tan Lee. Mr. Rae Emmanuel Echaveria, the Research, Publications and Information Officer, was also tapped as a resource person.
In addition to the classroom lectures, the participants were able to visit the Philippine office of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) in Makati City. These visits were organized to expose the participants on the realities of project management and to see the actual application of project management tools in development activities with focus on TVET.
