With the theme “TVET Roles in Socio Economic Development through Entrepreneurship and Meta-Skills”, the event gathered practitioners, researchers, policy makers and educators around the world to share the latest information, valuable knowledge, best practices, and research findings related to TVET.
The forum also brought together eminent international speakers who have contributed vastly in the TVET sector.
Together with Dr. Lamichhane are: Assistant President of NINGBO Polytechnic in China Ms. Cen Yong; Chairman and CEO of SG Education Group Dato Sri Ts. Ganesh Palaniapan; Deputy Director of Malaysia Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (MyRIVET) and former CPSC Director General Dato’ Ts. Dr. Mohammad Naim bin Yaakub; and the President of Federation of Malaysia Manufacturers Tan Sri Dato' Soh Thian Lai.

During the panel discussion, Dr. Lamichhane shared his insights on the role of TVET in social development in both local and international perspectives, as well as the significance of international cooperation in TVET. As the socio-economic impact of the pandemic was also tackled by the panel, Dr. Lamichhane also provided probable actions and strategies which may be adopted by institutions to address the negative effects and consequences.

The ATEF 2021 was organized by the Malaysia Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (MyRIVET) in collaboration with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).
