CPSC Director General Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe delivers the inaugural address virtually at the SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Sri Lanka
Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Director General Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe delivered the inaugural address at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SRM Institute of Science & Technology - Ramapuram Campus, Sri Lanka for the capacity development program entitled “A 15-day International Online Faculty Development Program on Teaching, Learning and Assessing in 2030” on June 6, 2023. This training program was organized by the university to help teachers in Sri Lanka improve their teaching competencies and their educational leadership.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Wickramasinghe highlighted the importance of incorporating digital learning and 21st-century skills in the education sector, especially in TVET. He signified his support to the Department of Physics and the SRM Institute of Science and Technology in its implementation of the faculty development program and offered his good luck to the participants and trainees. In his speech, Prof. Wickramasinghe also introduced the functions and mandates of CPSC and the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) in the development of TVET in the Asia Pacific region.
Program Convenor Dr. N. Asokan has expressed his utmost gratitude and appreciation to CPSC and Prof. Wickramasinghe in accommodating their request and accepting to be the Chief Guest in the program. He also signified his openness to collaborate with CPSC for potential programs and explore possible partnerships in supporting the College’s goal of improving the TVET system in Sri Lanka.
