The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) conducted the 117th Governing Board Meeting on June 27, 2024 at the CPSC headquarters in Pasig City, Philippines. The meeting was presided by H.E. Betty Palaso, CPSC Governing Board Chairperson and Ambassador of Papua New Guinea in the Philippines, and was joined by the Heads of Missions and country representatives from the embassies of Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Office of United Nations and International Organizations (DFA-UNIO), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippines also attended the meeting.
The Board deliberated and discussed key agenda items including the adoption of the Minutes of the 116th Governing Board Meeting held on January 25, 2024; actions taken based on the Board decisions and matters arising from the previous meeting; presentation of the annual report on CPSC activities and accomplishments for FY 2023-2024; report of the Standing Committee Meeting held on April 25, 2024; and operational and fiscal management of CPSC for the upcoming FY 2024-2025.
During the board meeting, CPSC Director General Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe also presented his three-year accomplishments (from September 2021 to present) as the 12th Director General of CPSC. Lastly, Prof. Wickramasinghe and H.E. Betty Palaso, Ambassador of Papua New Guinea in the Philippines, presided over the ceremonial turnover for the CPSC Governing Board Chairpersonship and Vice-Chairpersonship for FY 2024-2025. The Governing Board for the next fiscal year will be led by the Chairpersonship of the Philippines represented by the Director General of TESDA, and the Vice-Chairpersonship of Singapore, represented by the Ambassador of Singapore in Manila.
