In line with the In-Country Program for Sri Lanka, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja conducted courtesy visits and met with some Sri Lanka government officials from October 22 to 23, 2024 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Prof. Dr. Dhameja formally introduced himself as the new CPSC Director General to Ms. Samanthi Senanayake, Additional Secretary (Vocational Training) of the Ministry of Education, who is also the CPSC Liaison Officer in Sri Lanka. During the discussion, Ms. Senanayake expressed her interest in CPSC's offerings of study tours, which can be designed by CPSC’s Project and Consultancy Division.

In addition, he met M. L. Dashitha Niroshana, Director (Skills Development) of the Ministry of Education, Skills Development & Vocational Education.

Prof. Dr. Dhameja also had fruitful discussions with Dr. K.A. Lalithadheera, Director General and Dr. Janaka Jayalath Deputy Director General of Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission regarding the advancement of quality assurance and quality management systems in the TVET systems in Sri Lanka through the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC).

Prof. Dr. Dhameja extended his appreciation to the officials for the meaningful discussions, assuring them of CPSC’s continued provision of services to Sri Lanka towards achieving employable TVET workforce. He also thanked the officials for the good collaboration in the conducted training program for Sri Lanka.
