The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), together with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh, hosted the International Webinar on Start-up Incubation and Entrepreneurship at an Institution of Higher Learning - Opportunities and Challenges. The webinar was conducted on October 17, 2024 via Zoom platform, convening 79 TVET practitioners and academicians from various disciplines.

CPSC Director General Prof. Suresh Kumar Dhameja inaugurated the international webinar and welcomed the participants from various countries and institutions. In his welcome remarks, Prof. Dr. Dhameja shared a brief background of the webinar following his expertise on entrepreneurship.
The webinar consisted of two lectures from Dr. Atharva Poundarik, Director of IIT Ropar - Technology Business Incubator Foundation (TBIF); and Dr. Niraj Bala, Professor and Head of the Entrepreneurship Development and Industrial Coordination Department in NITTTR Chandigarh.

In his welcome remarks, Prof. Dr. Dhameja shared a brief The webinar explored the significance of start-up incubations and entrepreneurship to higher learning institutions. During the sessions, Dr. Poundarik discussed the opportunities and challenges of start-up incubation as integrated in the context of IIT Ropar-TBIF’s practices. Likewise, Dr. Bala’s session focused on the concepts of entrepreneurship, innovation, start-ups, and business incubation. She also provided key points about technologies driving Industry 4.0.

After the sessions, the participants showed their interest in the topics and further engaged with the webinar speakers through a question and answer forum moderated by CPSC Governing Board-Engaged Faculty Consultant Dr. Kesavan Ulaganathen.
