The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Director General Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, joined the ‘Conclave for Promoting Internationalisation,’ hosted by the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR) Chandigarh on 26 November 2024 at NITTTR Chandigarh.

The event, led by NITTTR Chandigarh’s Director Prof. Dr. Bhola Ram Gurjar, brought together leaders, educators and policymakers from around the globe, including: delegates from the Embassies of the United Kingdom, Israel, and Finland; representatives from INWF (Indo Nordic Water Forum); representatives from IITs, NITs, IISER, Mohali; Engineer-In-Chief from Irrigation Department, Haryana; and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Shri Govind Jaiswal.

The event aimed to tackle discussions regarding the integration of multicultural and global perspectives into teaching, research, and curriculum development. The following were the key objectives of the conclave:

  • Establishing international collaborations in teaching, research, and capacity building.
  • Designing curricula that incorporate multicultural competencies and align with international standards.
  • Facilitating exchange programs for faculty and students to enhance global exposure.
  • Exploring opportunities for joint degree programs and global academic initiatives.

The event also featured a tour of NITTTR’s state of the art facilities such as cutting-edge laboratories, smart classrooms, sports facilities, and the rest of its world-class educational infrastructure.

And with their recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 25 November 2024, both organizations commit to their dedication to fostering academic excellence and innovation.

The ‘Conclave for Promoting Internationalisation’ is a testament to NITTTR Chandigarh’s dedication to advancing global collaboration in education. By fostering multicultural competencies and establishing international partnerships, the institute is paving the way for a more interconnected and inclusive future for TVET.
