The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Director General, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, attended the New Year’s Vin d'Honneur Reception, hosted by His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines, and First Lady Madame Louise Araneta-Marcos, on January 11, 2025, at Malacañan Palace in Manila City, Philippines.

The reception was extended to all Diplomatic Missions (DM) and Heads of International Organizations (IO) accredited to the Republic of the Philippines through the honorable invitation of the Office of the Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). During the event, President Marcos Jr. welcomed key government officials, members of the Diplomatic Missions, and heads of international organizations.

One of the highlights of the reception was the ceremonial toast shared by President Marcos Jr. and Most Reverend Archbishop Charles John Brown, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines. This toast symbolized unity, respect, and collaboration among nations, which emphasized the role of diplomacy and international relations in fostering peace and prosperity.

The Vin d'Honneur, a French term for "wine of honor," is held biannually at Malacañan Palace to celebrate the New Year and Philippine Independence Day.
