The Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) Director General, Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, conducted courtesy visits to the high officials of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), Training Institute for Technical Instructor (TITI), National Planning Commission (NPC), The Provincial Assembly, Nepal Council of Arbitration (NEPCA), and Forum for Health & Technical Science, on January 17, 2025. These visits were held in conjunction with the Regional Program in Kathmandu, Nepal from January 15 to 19, 2025.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Dhameja formally introduced himself and discussed possible areas of collaborations with the following Nepali officials: Prof. Dr. Om Prasad Baral, CTEVT Vice-Chairperson; Engr. Mahesh Bhattarai, CTEVT Member Secretary; Dr. Anoj Bhattarai, TITI Executive Director; Prof. Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari, NPC Vice-Chairman; Dr. Dinesh C. Devkota, Provincial Assembly Member; Dr. Rajendra P. Adhikari, NEPCA Chairperson; and Sumil Kumar Chalise, Chairman for Central Committee in Forum for Health & Technical Science. Altogether, they affirmed to continue working closely on the advancement of the TVET professionals in Nepal.
The discussions left a positive impression on the Nepali officials as they expressed keen interest in exploring APACC accreditation for TVET institutions in Nepal and conducting study visits to learn best practices from other APACC-accredited institutions. Furthermore, the TITI Executive Director, Dr. Bhattarai, organized a campus tour and introduced his institute to the CPSC DG.
Nepal has been a long-time partner and collaborator with CPSC. In previous years, the Training Institute for Technical Instruction (TITI), a TVET institute based in Sanothimi Bhaktapur, Nepal, served as the venue for ICP Nepal in March 2023. CPSC looks forward to future partnerships with CTEVT, TITI, NPC and NEPCA via TVET training and Quality Assurance accreditation.
