
Ten (10) teaching staff from the Polytechnic College of Engineering and Technology (PCET), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, joined the first phase of the Customized Program on English Training organized by the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) from February 18 to March 7, 2025 in CPSC, Pasig City, Philippines. The overall program was supervised under the helm of Prof. Dr. Suresh Kumar Dhameja, CPSC Director General, together with Prof. Naeem Yaqoob, CPSC Faculty Specialist and Chairperson of the Projects and Consultancy Division (PCD).
As English is one of the languages widely used across the globe, the customized program was designed to meet the needs of PCET’s teaching staff in improving their communication skills in the English language.The program intended to build the participants’ confidence in using the language as well as enhance their English speaking and writing skills.

The program officially started on February 18, 2025 with an opening ceremony led by Prof. Dr. Dhameja, in which he formally welcomed the Mongolian participants in his welcome remarks. Likewise, Mrs. Altantuya Ivanov, Senior Specialist of Curriculum and Quality Assurance; and Ms. Narangarav Lkhagvasuren, Chemistry Teacher delivered their short special remarks on behalf of PCET. This was followed by a Program Orientation provided by Prof. Naeem.




From February 18 to February 28, 2025, the participants attended English language lessons conducted by Coach Gabby Go Balauag, DTM, and Coach Ivan Burcer, DTM, YESBIZCORE’s Chief Content Officers. YESBIZCORE has been a long time partner of CPSC and has been collaborating with the College in providing their expertise for CPSC’s English training programs. Their sessions covered grammar lectures on subject-verb agreement, pronouns, adjectives, prepositions, verb tenses, adverbs, and place vocabulary. Apart from the lessons, there were also interactive activities that allowed the participants to apply their learnings into storytelling and oral presentations.

Following the two-week classroom session with YESBIZCORE, Ms. Kanika Dhameja, Associate Marketing Manager at Conagra Brands, delivered an online lecture on Intercultural & Business Communication. The Mongolian participants also immersed themselves into different activities facilitated by Ms. Stephanie Rimas, Ms. Danilyn Amaro, and Mrs. Arlene Cruz. These activities included cultural immersion at National Museum of Natural History and Intramuros, office immersion, and oral presentations. Lastly, a study visit was conducted at TESDA Women’s Center (TWC) and TESDA National Language Skills Center to wrap up the program.



The three-week English training successfully concluded with a closing ceremony held at CPSC, wherein selected participants briefly shared their learning experiences with CPSC and YESBIZCORE. Furthermore, Mr. Lawrence Gonzales, Acting PCD Officer delivered the Vote of Thanks, while Prof. Naeem provided the Program Summary. This was followed by Prof. Dr. Dhameja’s closing remarks as he congratulated the ten participants for successfully completing the three-week training and commended them for the confidence and determination they had shown throughout the program. He further emphasized the importance of practicing and encouraged them to allot an English hour everyday, which Mr. Gonzales also mentioned in his message.
Finally, on behalf of the PCET delegation from this batch, Mrs. Altantuya expressed her heartfelt gratitude to CPSC for the warm welcome and hospitality, to YESBIZCORE for conducting the two-week classroom sessions, and to PCET for providing them the support and opportunity to learn and develop their English language skills.
