On January 19, 2013, eight high officials of TVET and private sector from Bangladesh made an official visit to the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC), arranged by the International Labor Organization (ILO) – Bangladesh and the Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Mr. Md. Atwar Rahman, Addl. Secretary (Technical), Ministry of Education led the group, together with ILO – Bangladesh staff, Mr. Arthur Shears and Mr. Hari Pada Das.

The visit was part of the officials’ 2-day Fellowship and Study Tour to the Philippines. It aimed to provide an opportunity for discussion and exchange of ideas about CPSC’s programs, the Asia-Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) accreditation systems, competency-based training, quality assurance and skills policy.

On behalf of the CPSC Director General, Faculty Consultant Dr. Hazrat Hussain led the CPSC team in welcoming the delegation from Bangladesh. Dr. Hussain presented CPSC’s programs and activities, the Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission accreditation system and discussed vital details with the Bangladesh officials in initiating opportunities for future collaboration in the area of TVET.
