On its fourth year of continued capacity building implementation and fortified partnership since 2010, the Colombo Plan Staff College (CPSC) and Korea University of Technology and Education (Korea Tech) kicked off 2014 with its 7th Special Internship Program on January 8, 2014 at CPSC in Manila.
Eleven (11) Korea Tech participants mostly Engineering and Industrial Management students are set to gain wide-ranging and enjoyable learning experiences from the 3-week program slated from January 8 to 26, 2014. The program is lined-up with varied sessions which tackle soft skills, research and development in TVET, industrial immersion activities, entrepreneurship perspectives, job-seeking skills and cross-cultural understanding with the inclusion of educational and cultural study visits.
The CPSC Director General, Dr. Mohammad Naim Yaakub, warmly welcomed the participants at the opening ceremonies on Monday and shared his immense pleasure in hosting the 7th internship program with Korea-Tech underscoring the six successful programs previously conducted. He emphasized the significant benefits of the program in the enhancement of the students’ abilities that may enable them to face the challenges of a new phase in their lives that is the world of work. In addition, he hoped that the program continues to provide a platform for multi-cultural exchange and understanding.
Under the helm of the CPSC Director General as Program Supervisor, the program coordination is being handled by Dr. Hazrat Hussain, CPSC Faculty Consultant, who acts as Program Coordinator. The roster of Resource Persons include, Dr. Godelyn Hisole, Faculty Specialist, Dr. Alice Panares, Commissioner, National Commission for Culture and the Arts and Atty. Teodoro Pascua, Jr., Deputy Director General, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
